Bernardo Silva calls Cancelo’s decision to join Bayern ‘the best decision for him’
Man City playmaker Bernardo Silva backs compatriot Joao Cancelo for leaving Manchester City.
Amidst reports of Pep Guardiola having problems with
Joao Cancelo, the Portuguese full-back has decided to leave Manchester City and join Bayern Munich on loan, a decision which Bernardo silva supports fully.
"Happy for him, because it was the path he chose to continue happily in his life,"
he told Eleven Sports
. "Sad for the team and for me, because I won’t be able to count on him every day. He knows that he is a person that I like a lot. But he made the best decision for him and I’m really happy for him."
Meanwhile, Guardiola claimed that his move to
Bayern Munichwas purely because Cancelo wanted to play more. The Spanish tactician wished Cancelo well.
Cancelo was first offered to Real Madrid but Los Blancos refused the offer to sign him, at which point Bayern Munich showed their interest in the player. Cancelo’s loan deal includes a €70 million buy option clause which the Bavarians could activate at the end of the season.
Cancelo has already assisted twice in his 2 appearances for FC Hollywood and could be a key player in their clash against PSG.
