“In football, never say never"- Roma star Abraham open to Premier League return

Roma star Tammy Abraham is open to a return to the Premier League, amid links with Manchester United and Chelsea.

Abraham joined Rome from Chelsea for a €40m fee in the summer of 2021. He scored 17 goals from 37 Serie A matches in his first season, although he has only managed to score six goals this season.

The 25-year-old English striker has been linked with many Premier League clubs in recent months, including Manchester United.

In the feature interview with the English magazine FourFourTwo, he was asked about a return to the Premier League.

He said:

“In football, never say never. Right now, my goal and my attention is on Roma: we want to finish the season well. I haven’t even started thinking about anything other than just being here and doing my best.

“I wouldn’t say there are any loose ends in England, I’m in no rush. Maybe I’ll stay at Roma for the next ten years, or maybe not. You never know what’s around the corner.”

Abraham also praised his manager Jose Mourinho and called him a ‘legend’.

“Jose is a legend,”

he said.

“I love him. He is what we call a real boss. He is a leader. When he speaks, you listen. He knows how to handle his players, he is one of the best in the world at it.

“He knows how to motivate you, how to really get under your skin. Even if you’re doing a good job, he’ll still try to get you to do more. He is never satisfied, he always wants more.”
